Miles Davis, the greatest visionary Jazz Artist ever, produced many styles of Jazz as an Innovator and Pioneer.
Combining elements of Jazz, Rock and Funk he reimagined Jazz, creating a completely different style of music, hence his Electric Band period. Saxophonist Matt Wallace (Maynard Ferguson) and Fusion Force have enlisted some high powered stars to perform this Miles Davis Electric Band night at The Jewell Wednesday July 17th with Shows at 6:30 and 8:30pm.
On trumpet you start with a Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Trumpet Competition winner-
LA Trumpeter Peter Olstad (Berklee School of Music) has performed with Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Luis Miguel, Tom Jones, Mel Tormé and Blood, Sweat and Tears. He is an amazing soloist and lead player.
Next you have to have someone capable of the John Scofield/Mike Stern guitar work.
So, In steps Los Angeles guitarist Tim Kobza (North Texas State) who has run the Studio Masters Guitar Program at the Thornton School of Music at USC the last 25 years. His playing is inspiring and impeccable and has backed such artists as Sara Bareilles, Coolio, James Tormé, Jon B and Joe McBride.
He has 25+ TV and Movie credits such as the films Taken and Carrie, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Desperate House Wives and The Office.
World Class South American percussionist Michael Pujado joins the Fusion Force rhythm section of Duke Riggs drums (Prince), long time Las Vegas electric bass man Clarke Edson and award winning young Keyboardist Kevin Lloyd.
Such Miles classic Electric Band material as Human Nature, Jo Jo and Jean Pierre will be performed along with some John Scofield and Mike Stern classics!
