We will only allow 60 people per show to protect the customers, the staff, and the artists.

We hope to grow this slowly while keeping our customers 6 ft. from each other to practice social distancing

We’ve instituted a number of new measures to help insure the health and comfort of our guests.

These steps include but aren’t limited to:

MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY INTO THE JEWELL

Laminated/Protected Menus which are sanitized and wiped between uses
Black Nitrite Gloves to be used and replaced throughout shift
Sanitation stations at host stand and within the club
Fresh table linens between every set
Face masks for all employees
Limited seating and distance restrictions
Tables limited to parties of six
Accepting all sick requests from staff and performers
Enforcing self-quarantine for staff members who travel

MITCH TOWNE – ORGAN

Mitch Towne is a keyboardist and touring musician, and is widely considered as the “go-to” Hammond organist in the Midwest. His ability to move seamlessly between diverse styles has made him a sought-after side-man with artists as varied as jazz/R&B artist and Grammy-winning producer Terrace Martin, jazz heavyweights Ryan Kisor, Dave Stryker and Adam Larson, blues artists Eric Gales and Ben Poole, and multi-platinum artist Aloe Blacc. In 2015, Towne played organ on the track “Push” for the album “Velvet Portraits” by Terrace Martin, which was nominated for a 2016 Grammy for “Best R&B” album.

JOHN KIZILARMUT – DRUMS

Percussion teacher John K

John Kizilarmut is a percussion teacher at the Kansas City School of Music. He has performed with a wide range of artists and groups including Aretha Franklin, Doc Severinsen, Matt Wilson, Jimmy Heath, Branford Marsalis, Logan Richardson, Clark Terry, New York Voices, Ana Gasteyer, Conspirare, Shirley Jones, DJ Starscream, and the Des Moines Symphony

He is also frequent guest performer and clinician at percussion and jazz festivals throughout the midwest. Additionally, he was a featured artist at the PASIC convention in 2013.

Mr. Kizilarmut is also an active composer and arranger. His works have been featured by many award winning music programs, including the 2013 State Jazz champion Waukee High School Jazz Ensemble, Lake Central High School Band, several DCI Drum Corps, and the University of Texas percussion ensemble.

John has served as a percussion teacher on the faculties of Drake University, Grinnell College, and Northwest Missouri State University.

He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Nicole and son Evan.

TETSUYA NISHIYAMA – GUITAR

Tetsuya Nishiyama is a guitarist, originally from Nagoya, Japan. he has worked with some of finest jazz musicians in the U.S including Marquis Hill, Reginald Thomas, Geoffrey Bradfield, Greg Ward, Christopher McBride, Ari Brown, Bryan Carter, Robert Irving III, Tony Monaco, Bobby Floyed, Victor Garcia, and many others. He has also worked with many names on the blues R&B scene including Buddy Guy, Roy Ayers, The Emotions, Toronzo Cannon, Mike Wheeler, etc.

 

SPECIAL GUEST COLE PALANSKY – SAX

“Cole Palensky is a young saxophonist from Omaha, Nebraska, currently residing in NYC pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in jazz studies at New York University. Cole has performed extensively throughout the world, touring numerous countries including the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, and China, and has performed twice at New York’s world-famous venue, Carnegie Hall with the Weill Music Institute’s NYO Jazz program. Cole has also performed alongside world-class musicians such as Sean Jones, Wycliffe Gordon, Dianne Reeves, and Kurt Elling.

Joining Cole for this show is another young saxophonist and former member of the NYO Jazz big band, Evan Kappelman, from Kansas City, and an incredible rhythm section comprised of Mitch Towne on organ, and Brian Steever on drums.”
