DOYLE TIPLER PRESENTS
Andre Vander Velde
For the past ten years, Andre Vander Velde has been sharing his warm soulful voice with people all over Omaha. He blends singer-songwriter acoustic soul, the likes of Bill Withers and Amos Lee, with the funk/R&B attitude of Prince and Otis Redding. His funk-rock project, Jaguar James, was recently nominated for OEAA’s Best Soul in 2022 and whether he’s jamming with a band or crooning with just an acoustic guitar, he creates an intimate experience that makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room.
Like an overall-clad Moses descended from the mountain top, barefoot and straight onto a Midwestern stage, Bedrock lead singer and songwriter Edward Spencer delivers some heavy truth in his songs. Combine that with his Morrison-esque baritone and flashes of a 70’s-era Springsteen howl, and it’s easy to see why his band has become a must-see show for Omaha music fans in the know. He may not have come down from some Biblical summit holding stone tablets, but he sure sounds like he’s done some traveling and come back carrying a few stories.
Andrew Bailie is an American songwriter, singer and guitarist. His intricate songs are crafted with raw emotion, fierce guitar work, and an unmistakable, soaring voice. Drawing elements from a variety of musical styles and traditions, Bailie’s songs are woven from his own hopes, fears and enchantment, tapping into the common human experiences that give us pause, inspire longing, or set us ablaze
