As a native of Long Island,NY Austin Mitchell is a multi-talented artist (specializing in singing, songwriting, drums & keys). At the age from 5-17 he played the drums for multiple churches as well as singing on the worship team. While also auditioning for shows Such as American Idol, The Voice and BETs Sundays Best were he made the Top 50 panel and made his small television debut. Growing up, Austin’s grandmother who sung in the church has inspired him to inherit the family passion for music. he was exposed to Gospel which made an impact in his Live Performances. Recently relocated to Omaha, Austin has had some notable performances since his arrival. Mostly with his band “The Crew” at Live Venues such as “The Omaha Lounge” and “Reverb Lounge” and now The Jewell. Austin’s voice is distinguished by a unique silky tone and impressive vocal range and is influenced by Gospel, R&B & Neo-Soul. Austin draws from influential people in the music industry such as (Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Tevin Campbell & PJ Morton). Earlier in the year, Austin Attended the “Open Vibe” Jam Sessions With Big Wade & Black Swan Theory at the Jewell which opened the door for this performance.
