ANDREW WRAY’S QUARTET

Bryan Canonigo – Sax

Bryan Canonigo is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Jazz Studies department at University of Nebraska Lincoln and is the director of the UNL Big Band. Bryan holds a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Studies from Humber College in Toronto, Canada where he performed with Michael Brecker, Dave Holland, Dave Douglas, Randy Brecker as part of the Humber Studio Jazz Ensemble. For over the ten years, Bryan worked as a Musical Director and musician playing multiple woodwinds for Carnival Cruise Lines where he performed with, directed, conducted, and managed a multitude of bands across many genres. His bands opened for popular acts on private chartered cruises such as John Mayer, New Kids On the Block, Lyle Lovett, Bernard Purdie, The Barenaked Ladies and Patti LaBelle. Bryan is currently pursuing his Doctotral degree in Jazz Studies under the instruction of Dr. Paul Haar at University of Nebraska Lincoln and is a very active musician in the Lincoln, NE community.

Malachi Million – guitar

Malachi Million graduated with honors from Friends University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance. At Friends, he studied jazz guitar under Randy Zellers and classical under Howard Glanton.
Million attended graduate school at the University of Arkansas and earned a Master of Music Performance degree in guitar studying under Benjamin Harris and Jake Hertzog.
He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is earning a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies Performance degree under Dr. Peter Bouffard.
He has experience playing with Jazz groups, performing solo guitar in jazz and other styles, vocal jazz groups, large jazz ensembles, guitar ensembles, metal bands, funk bands, blues bands and worship music.

Jonah Bennett – Bass
